UNIFORM POLICY

We believe strongly in school uniform as it reflects our commitment to the equal worth of each individual. High standards of personal presentation reinforce our values of self respect and pride in our community.

Each student is expected to wear his/her uniform appropriately, in strict adherence to our schools's standard. In doing so, our students show that they are proud to be part of St. Margaret Ward Catholic Academy.
All pupils in Years 7 to 11 are expected to wear correct academy uniform at all times.

PLEASE WRITE YOUR CHILD’S NAME INSIDE ACADEMY UNIFORM AND PE KIT.

Boys are not allowed to wear jewellery.  The only jewellery girls can wear is one pair of small stud or sleeper earrings.  Any other piercings are not allowed.  The wearing of make-up, including nail polish, is discouraged, but if worn should be subtle and discreet.  Noticeable make-up will have to be removed.

On no account must denim or leather jackets be brought to school.  Hooded tops and fashion jumpers are not allowed and will be confiscated if worn.

In order to maintain a high standard of appearance no modification of uniform is acceptable.  Sanctions will be taken should any pupil not wear their uniform correctly.  If any pupil persists in wearing their uniform incorrectly they will be excluded from lessons until such time as their uniform meets the required standard.
