Student Home Study
Please read our Remote Learning Letter to parents/carers 6th January 2021
All students must use Microsoft Teams for all home study, which will enable your teacher to track your engagement more fully and offer you more support with home learning. We have chosen this platform as we use Microsoft Office for your emails etc.
If you click onto ‘Office 365’ at the bottom of the home screen on our website you will see ‘Teams’ is one of the circles that you can select. You can also download the ‘Microsoft Teams’ App.
You should have received an email inviting you to join your class on Teams. It should be easy for you to click on this, but follow this link Student Guide to Teams if you need help.
In our move to Teams, your teachers will be following you far more closely now and we will be speaking to you and your parents if you are not signing into Teams or completing the work that is being set for you.
To supplement this, students can also access information and learning through the following new national remote learning initiatives:
https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom– work designed to be completed remotely put together by a group of teaching staff from around the country who have designed lessons for a virtual school.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons– daily lessons in a range of subjects which will allow students to embed and extend their knowledge and explore topics in greater detail.
The following resources have been created and launched by the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. They are interactive road safety workbooks. Module 1 has a focus on essential journeys. Module 2 focuses on drivers and Module 3 focuses on Pedestrians. When complete, please submit this work to Mrs Farrer.
