Our Y7, 8 & 9 girls football activators represented SMWCA at the city girls football leadership sessions.
The girls were required to design drills and then teach and coach Y8 girls from other schools who hadn’t played much football before.
After coaching their sessions to all of the teams, they ran a tournament and put the skills they had learnt from the recent whistlers course into action, refereeing, scoring and being assistant referees on the line.
Staff from others schools and the Stoke schools partnership commented how brilliant our girls were. They couldn’t believe their dedication and confidence, especially seeing as some were teaching girls older than themselves.
It was a fantastic day and the girls were absolutely brilliant. Our young activators are certainly doing a fantastic job of following the legacy set by our previous football activators.
