On Friday 22nd March a group of Year 9 students, alongside Miss Holdcroft, attended a day led by The Spark Group at Staffordshire University.
They experienced an interactive workshop about sustainability where they were given the opportunity to run and save the world from climate change, which they did spectacularly!
This was followed by a practical workshop where they had a go at creating a circuit and then taking apart a plug to examine and discuss how it the electricity works as well, as how beneficial jobs in the industry can be.
Positive People Empowerment were in attendance to help inspire the students to build a stronger community within Stoke on Trent whilst working on personal growth and positive change.
Following this, they were taken to Keele University to see the UK’s largest University-based renewable energy park, with two wind turbines and 12,500 solar panels!
It was an inspiring day, and the students hope to continue the wonderful relationship that they have established with The Spark Group.
Truly an amazing opportunity, enjoyed by everyone involved.
