Dancers Perform at 023 Dance

Wednesday 8th February, saw St Margaret Ward dancers perform at the 023 Dance performance at The Regent Theatre.

The dancers from years 8, 10 and 11 were an absolute credit to the school and were fantastic ambassadors for St Margaret Ward. Their manner was incredibly professional and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working as a professional dance company for the day. The performers were dancing Y11 dancer Jessica Mounfield’s own choreography, which she has created for her upcoming GCSE exam. The choreography was inspired by the mental health crisis that faces the youth of our planet and was grounded on the work of the Samaritans, using a Samaritans flyer as its stimulus.

The enthusiasm of the performers was so lovely to see and it was noted by the theatre staff just how polite and professional they were and how poignant and emotive their performance was.

They were an absolute pleasure on the day! – Mrs Page, Head of Dance

Sentinel reporters also attended our rehearsal call and took some beautiful images – they are featured in The Sentinel see link below –
