11 pupils become published poets!

Following the workshop that that our Librarian, Mrs Holdcroft, ran on Poetry Day back in October, 11 students from Years 7-12 submitted a poem each that they wrote specifically for the Young Writer’s Power of Poetry competition.

All 11 of our students have been selected to be printed in The Power of Poetry book, launching in February! It’s a huge achievement for all entries to be selected out of the huge amount of entries that they receive nationally.

We’re so proud of this fantastic achievement from our pupils – they have each received a certificate and bookmark, and are still in the running for one of the cash prizes of £50! The company running the competition will also be sending our Library a copy of the book for everyone to see.
