St. Margaret Ward Catholic Academy celebrates 97% pass rate for A Levels 

Students at St. Margaret Ward Catholic Academy are celebrating a 97% pass rate as they received their A Level results. 

One of the standout achievers was Madie Longshaw, who achieved an A star in History, A in English Literature and A in Sociology, and will being going on to study History and Politics at Cambridge University from October. 

Madie Longshaw commented, 

“I was really nervous about my History but after getting my results I feel so calm and glad my hard work has paid off. I’m really excited about going to Cambridge – it will take a bit of getting used to, but I’m looking forward to it.” 

Principal Dominic McKenna, shared his delight at the overall achievement of the learners, including Madie, saying, 

“We’ve had a really great group of students and while we’re sorry to see them go, we’re delighted for them going off to bright and exciting futures. 

“We try to give them the best possible start in life, and results such as Madie’s prove that the sky is the limit for your ambitions. Our Sixth Form is a nice size which allows us to offer that pastoral and academic support which can be personalised to each learner.” 

Some results of note belong to: Krishna Ram who achieved three B grades and is going to study Medicine at Keele University; Luhayych Mustafa who achieved an A and two distinction stars and will be studying Physiotherapy also at Keele; Yahnah Mustafa also achieved two A stars and an A and after taking a gap year will also be studying Medicine at Keele; Isabel Saunders achieved two C grades and a Distinction and is heading to York University to study Social Political Science.
