Community Art Club – visit to the Gingerbread Centre

The pupils who attend the Community Art Club have been working hard again this half term to create their small crafts to gift out and they wanted to choose a charity that works with children.

The staff at the Centre explained how the Centre offers temporary accommodation to families with children while also offering them a support package for each member of the family until they can secure a more permanent home of their own.

We also took materials for an art activity that the pupils could complete with any of the children that were at the centre for the session. A couple of parents and children joined everyone in the activity room and St Margaret Ward pupils enjoyed interacting with them.

Becky, Community Fundraiser for the Centre, said:

“It was lovely to welcome you all, and we are so grateful for the beautiful gifts and artwork the pupils brought along for our families. It was incredibly thoughtful, and I know they will be very much appreciated.

I also wanted to say how lovely the pupils were. They were all so polite, friendly and incredibly well behaved, and they were a real credit to the school. Please pass on our thanks to them for the time and effort they put into everything they made and for being so respectful while visiting the centre.

We really hope they enjoyed their visit and learning a little more about Gingerbread Family Support and the families we support.

Thank you again for thinking of us and for such a lovely morning.”
