Every year a large number of our students enter the Stoke-on-Trent Young Musician of the Year competition. The initial rounds are in January and the winner of each class then competes in the final which was on 29 March. This year four of the 12 finalists – Alexandra, Acacia, Viktoriia and Henry competed in the final with Grace who is a student at St Joseph’s Catholic Academy. It’s truly amazing that over a third of the finalists are from our Collegiate and we couldn’t be prouder of them all.
It was an honour to listen to them all perform, and they are all winners as they have already won their classes. The judges had two extremely difficult decisions to make as everyone performed so well. Congratulations to all of the finalists but HUGE congratulations to Henry in Year 8 who was crowned the Junior Stoke-on-Trent Young Musician of the Year for the 2nd year running!
